Decree 1775 Decree 1775, or the Indian Decree, was signed into Brazilian law by President Fernando Henrique Cardoso on January 8, 1996. The decree set a timetable for demarcation of indigenous lands by FUNAI, the governmental department which deals with indigenous issues.
